Sun Pharma Science Foundation's 11th Hands-on Training Workshop

Sun Pharma Science Foundation's 11th Hands-on Training Workshop on " Epigenomics Workflows (Cut&Tag & ATAC-Seq)” in association with Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Delhi-NCR.

Date : July 13th to 17th, 2026

Venue: Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Delhi-NCR

Participants: 25 selected trainees from across the country.

This Hands-on Workshop is being organized at The Center of Excellence in Epigenetics (COEE), Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence Delhi-NCR. This will be an intensive five-day hands-on workshop focused on cutting-edge epigenomics workflows, specifically Cut&Tag and ATAC-Seq technologies. The workshop will be supported by Sun Pharma Science Foundation.

Epigenetics and chromatin biology have become central to understanding gene regulation in development, disease, immunity, metabolism, and cellular identity. However, many researchers and institutions still lack practical training opportunities in modern next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based chromatin profiling methods. This workshop aims to address this gap through direct laboratory-based training.

Unlike conventional workshop formats centered primarily on lectures and demonstrations, this program is designed as a fully immersive experimental training experience where every participant will individually perform all major experimental workflows — from sample preparation to sequencing-ready library generation.

Scientific Advisory Committee :

Prof. Virander S. Chauhan, Chairman SPSF

Prof. Sanjeev Galande - Dean, School of Natural Sciences - SNIoE

Mr. Satyananda Misra – Member Secretary SPSF

Training Components:

• Sample preparation and quality control

• Cell suspension and nuclei preparation

• Cut&Tag library preparation workflows

• ATAC-Seq library preparation workflows

• Sequencing-ready library generation

• Library quality assessment and troubleshooting

• Experimental design and QC checkpoints

Support for Participants:

For all selected participants, experimental reagents, accommodation, and meals will be fully covered. Travel support will not be provided.

Expected Impact:

The workshop aims to build practical technical capacity in cutting-edge chromatin and epigenomics workflows within the Indian research ecosystem. By enabling researchers to gain direct experimental competence in state-of-the-art methodologies, the program will help accelerate adoption of advanced epigenomics approaches across academic and biomedical laboratories.

Who can apply?

An applicant must be engaged in research on epigenetics. An applicant may be a PhD Student, Postdocs, Technical Staff or an Early Career Researchers.

Other relevant information

There is no course fee. The total number of participants is restricted to 25. Selection will be made on the basis of academic attainments and interests. Selected participants must make their own travel arrangement. Board and lodging will be provided by the organizers. Participants are expected to attend all five days of the Workshop.
